Where are the chairs?
epic's chairs delayed for delivery
March 23, 2006
Well, with all of the plans, scheduling, purchases, organization, training and other preparation for the epic launch, we never really considered not having chairs to sit on. AND THERE WILL BE CHAIRS AT OUR LAUNCH SERVICE.
With so many details coming through without a hitch, it should have been figured that something had to fall through. Every other order has made it in time. God has provided money for this church launch without reservation. The launch team is energized and committed. But what about the chairs?
Well, we ordered 300 chairs. We selected light weight chairs for easy storage and portability. We found the most comfortable chairs that could be purchased within our portability requirements. We ordered chairs from a dependable source well within the time required for delivery. In fact, the company that is providing the chairs for epic is also providing the vast majority of epic's other equipment. And all of the other equipment will be on time.
Just 3 days before our launch, Rhonda Kane called our supplier to confirm the proper location for the chair shipment, only to have the representative on the other side of the phone call mention that they would be here on March 31st - nearly ONE WEEK AFTER OUR FIRST SERVICE. With a gulp and a pause the representative went to check on a few things and sure enough, there is no way to get the comfortable and light chairs we ordered to our first gathering.
With a gulp and a pause on our side of the phone call, we wondered how we could manage this problem. Then the representative reassured us that they would rent chairs for us and guarantee their delivery. WHEW...
So, if you are a part of our first service and the seat you get is not so comfortable, SORRY... But maybe it will give you another reason to come to our second service to check out the real comfortable chairs. And if you are at our first service and think the chairs are GREAT, well then you need to come again to see if the right chairs are as comfortable as the wrong chairs. (I really hope they are!)
