flowering the cross at Easter

By Bruce Kane |  February 16, 2013

As you prepare to worship this Easter at epic, think about bringing some flowers from the garden to attach to the cross as you enter the worship space on Sunday morning.  This tradition brings rich expression to the reality that what was once an emblem of death has become the means to eternal life; and what once brought fear and dread now elicits joy and peace in the hearts of the faithful.

By participating in this symbolic transformation, we give expression to our gratitude for our own inner transformation.  If your garden is not blooming, you may want to stop by the market during Easter weekend and grab a small bouquet to bring as your personal offering.  If you come without, we will have some extra blooms available for you.

Here are some images of last year's cross.
