EPIC TEAM GROWS
The Glad Tidings Luncheon a Success
By Bruce Kane | October 19, 2005
On Sunday, October 16th, Bruce, Rhonda, Merritt, and Mason, formally introduced themselves to the Glad Tidings congregation as Hanford missionary church planters. Following that service, the epic team hosted a luncheon for those who felt like God might be leading them into the epic ministry. There were 21 adults present (including the existing team, Bruces' childhood pastors and a family friend), with their kids enjoying pizza next door.
Taco Salad was served and Bruce began to unfold the epic vision and strategy. There was a flurry of conversation, including people offering their talents, passions, and gifts to the vision. Some of those included children's ministry passion and experience, fine arts, musical talent, and even the availablity of a real estate professional with a vision for acquiring 100 acres of San Joaquin Valley land to donate for the purpose of establishing a Christian university.
At the end of our luncheon, the conversations were electric with excitement and 11 of the adults present expressed a strong desire to join the epic launching team. An additional couple committed to praying and seeking God's will about joining the team as well.
With this development, the epic team has more than doubled in size and is in a great position to grow to the necessary size for reaching our community in the Spring of 2006.
Welcome Frank & Janie Carrillo, Monn Del Rosario, Diana Dersch, Jeffrey Hamilton, Kim Harrison, Ryan Westmoreland, Neill & Taryn and Baby Evelyn Swift, Kyle Reynolds, Mike and Thelma Menefee, and
Lew Ceja to the epic team.
