60 Commit to Contagious Christianity

By Bruce Kane |  February 12, 2007

On Sunday, February 11, 2007, after 6 weeks of learning what the Bible has to say about living our lives on mission with Christ to seek and to save the lost, 60 individuals participated in an artful commitment signing ceremony.

The ceremony followed a message about God's outrageous journey across time and space, stepping into human form to deliver a tangible expression of love to us.  In that message we were challenged to take our own journey to express God's love.  While we don't need to travel across the universe, we may need to walk across the room, soccer field, class, or office to involve ourselves in the lives of others for the sake of gaining the opportunity to share God's love.  During our singing of worship, we were given the opportunity to sign a canvas, committing us to a lifestyle of walking across the room for Christ:  a lifestyle of contagious Christianity.

The piece of art will be displayed as a reminder of our commitment and a placard of the epic missional identity.  We are not an institution of evangelistic programs.  We are a community of evangelist-disciples.  If you missed the opportunity to sign on the canvas, a marker will be available for you to add your name to the canvas, and your life to the art.  We believe that Christ-followers loving non-believers is a beautiful thing for God to behold.  It is art for God.
