10 Suggestions for Simplicity

From Sunday's Message -

By Bruce Kane |  March 5, 2011

Here are the 10 suggestions I made on Sunday morning to begin stepping into a life of simplicity that launches the kind of Christ-centered clarity it takes to "seek the kingdom first."

  1. See things for use instead of status.
  2. Identify and address addictive behaviors.
  3. Make it a habit to give things away.
  4. Escape the gadget marketing sway.
  5. Learn to enjoy things without owning them.
  6. Develop a deeper appreciation for nature and creation.
  7. Refuse debt acquisition.
  8. Clean up your calendar & put relationships in first place.
  9. Limit media use and it’s influence.
  10. Find one of the passions that God has put in your heart for His kingdom and pursue it.
The blessed life is not made up of more stuff.  It's made up of more God, more 'one another,' more kingdom pursuit.  Be blessed.

The message will be posted soon. Check Bruce's Blog (link in the upper right corner) to see the weekly installments of "The Apparent Pilgrim."  A series on Christian simplicity.
